Swim Meet 101

  • Athletes must follow the National Federation rules and regulations.
  • Swimmers must wear the team cap or a plain color cap.
  • Swimmers should bring their own pair of goggles.
  • Swimmers and divers must wear the team suit or a plain color suit.
  • Swimmers and divers must sit in the designated team area.
  • For the safety of the athletes, swimmers and divers may not leave the team area without permission from one of the coaches or volunteers. This is so the athletes can remain supervised at all times. This is also so athletes do not miss their races.
  • Athletes may not leave the pool facility until all events have concluded. We’d like all swimmers and divers to stay until the end of the meet to support their teammates. If an emergency arises and the athlete must leave the meet early, please notify the head coach immediately because this will affect individual and relay line-ups.
  • At the beginning of the season, swimmers and divers should notify the head coach of any vacation weeks where he/she will miss practice or a meet.
  • Athletes must notify the head coach ASAP if he/she can suddenly not attend a meet that he/she was already entered in.
  • Most dual meets will begin at 6:00pm. Warm ups are usually around 4:50pm or 5:20pm depending on the location of the meet.
